Tall Art Nouveau Vase

Elegant tall vase in Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) style, the WMF (Wüttermburgische Metallwarenfabrik) was renowned for its cohesion in combining the philosophy of the art with an industrial manufacturing. This piece with its simple plantlike copper decoration and hammered and burnished brass body would likely have been designed under sculptor & then director of the WMF art studio Albert Mayer around 1900. Ostrich stamp/I Excellent patina. Overlay intact, all rivets are present.
