A use of shell or wavelike motif seems referential to the stylings of Rococo and Baroque furniture, and the overall form takes on a figural silhouette not altogether removed from the kind of mythical winged lion or gryphon commonly seen within those eras. Such flamboyance is offset and balanced by the dulled patina applied to the surface of the bronze, and the sleek contemporary starfire glass tabletop. The table presents a graceful fluidity that exudes sculptural confidence. Its unending shell-like curves that highlight the unique patina of this example underline the flamboyant nature of the piece.
