Nibble A wild, sculptural take on the idea of a display cabinet by New Zealand furniture maker Greg Bloomfield, turning out a distinct torch-shaped piece of storage from intelligent use of wood (respectively mahogany & quilted maple) and acrylic. The shelving unit — formed of clear discs within the body of the vessel — recedes within the heavier shapes, suggesting an almost secondary concern. Bloomfield, knowingly or not, often subverts the very functional necessity of a piece of furniture with his unorthodox form, tending to create these pieces from a single idea that floats unconsciously to the artist as a formative model. Provenance: The artist Excellent condition. Middle shelf has chipped edge. http://hieronymusobjects.com/images/thumbs/0018203_nibble.jpeg
